,Jane is a soprano, who can sing in a variety of styles from classical and opera through to musicals jazz standards and popular 20th century standards. She has a wartime song programme as well as a large variety of lieder, french song and english art song in her repertoire. She can offer programmes of Italian, French or German themed music, either entirely vocal, or including flute or saxophone performance. She sings for weddings, funerals and other church services as well as being an opera and oratorio soloist. She is regularly in demand for "Proms" style finales.
Jane is a conductor and musical director who directs choirs, theatre groups and opera. She has also conducted wind bands in Hampshire and Devon. She is currently the musical director for Red Earth Opera and the Torbay Jubilee Choir (which is a project choir).
Jane can offer individual lessons to advanced level in singing, flute and theory, intermediate piano and saxophone, or beginner's clarinet.
Jane also works extensively in education. She is able to offer workshops for both adults and children in a variety of forms, including singing days, opera workshops, musical performance workshops and composition and song writing workshops.
In 2002 she trained as a classroom music teacher, and has since worked as a Music Advisor and with all stages of education from Key Stage 2 upwards. She currently teaches whole class woodwinds, classroom music and individual music lessons in several Torbay and south Devon schools as well as working with the Torbay Music Hub's Music Makers and Festival Awards Scheme. In 2019, she was one of the songwriters working with young musicians in three Torbay Schools for the Sing Around the Bay project, culminating in a massed performance at the Princess Theatre, Torquay.
From 2011 to 2018 she worked for the Torbay and South Devon Music Centre as director of the concert winds group. Prior to moving to Devon she worked for SingUp at Guildford Cathedral.
